Our PrinciplesWe believe students learn mathematics best when they are given the freedom to explore, the space to discuss, and the challenges that encourage them to think beyond familiar methods.
Practice with Purpose
Problem-solving is at the heart of mathematical growth. We use chosen problems to strengthen students’ skills, build fluency, and develop confidence. Rather than simply completing large numbers of questions, students learn to experiment with strategies.
Explore, Don't Just Memorize
We encourage students to ask why rather than simply remember how. By exploring ideas from different perspectives, students develop a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts and begin to see connections between seemingly different topics.
Discuss and Collaborate
Mathematics becomes more powerful when ideas are shared. Students are encouraged to explain their reasoning, and learn from different perspectives. We see discussion as part of the mathematical process itself.
Embrace the Challenge
A difficult problem is an opportunity to discover something new. We introduce students to problems that may not have an obvious path forward, encouraging them to experiment, make mistakes, and persist until they find a way through.
